Dressage Dazzles Minnesota Horse Expo
By Kathy Mahlen
The dressage demos by Ron Postleb were great! He was very interesting and engaging. We had standing room only crowds in the judging arena where the demos were held. Each demo had a larger crowd than the one before it. He covered such areas as collection, lateral work, the six steps of the training scale, and movements such as the pirouette at both the walk and canter.
He explained everything being demonstrated in a positive and understandable manner. He took questions from the audience and had the riders demonstrate his answers.
The riders demonstrated movements based on both their levels of training and that of their horses - from single flying changes to a string of two tempis. He seemed genuinely impressed with all of them.
I have seen several clinicians attend our expo, but he was probably one of the best at interacting with both the riders and the spectators.
Between his demos on Saturday he joined CSDEA at the booth and spent close to two hours talking with people and answering questions and having his photo taken.
Thanks to all the riders including Barb Anderson Whities, Jeanne Ahrenholz, Erika Mahlen, Lisa Bukowski, Melissa Lund and Denise Jost.
Ron was great and we hope to have him back again!
